Syeda Mira Tabassum

Syeda Mira Tabassum is a certified Jolly Phonics Trainer and seasoned educator with over 30 years of experience in early childhood literacy and English language education based in Bangladesh.
First introduced to Jolly Phonics in the early 2000s, Mira understood its structure — yet it was only through experiencing it fully and systematically at Jolly Learning that she recognized its profound power. That turning point transformed her entire approach to teaching reading, writing and reshaped how she mentors teachers. Earlier, she contributed as Academic Supervisor at Scholastica Limited.
Over 22 years at Lakehead Grammar School, she embedded Jolly Phonics principles across Nursery, Kindergarten, and Early Primary years, informally guiding and training teachers in its delivery across all foundational age groups. She currently continues this work at Wheaton International School as Vice Principal and Head of English, championing phonics-based literacy in the Early Years.
The most compelling evidence of her work is visible in her students — measurably faster reading development and stronger phonemic confidence in early learners. Her career began at Thai Airways International, where she honed her communication and people skills.
