Olufunmi Bankole is a visionary leader driving literacy development across West Africa. With a proven track record of transforming education through innovative approaches, she spearheads strategic initiatives to enhance reading skills among children and empower educators.
As a seasoned educator and literacy expert, Olufunmi has led large-scale projects, training over 50,000 early years' teachers in Nigeria and beyond in the Jolly Phonics method. Her leadership has fostered a network of 'Jolly Phonics Ambassadors' who champion literacy excellence in their schools.
Currently, she directs literacy programs in multiple countries, including a groundbreaking project in the Republic of Guinea where over 3,500 teachers have adopted Synthetic Phonics. Olufunmi collaborates with governments, NGOs, and private organizations to drive sustainable educational change.
