Agnes is from Kampala, Uganda. From a very young age, she wanted to become a teacher. Agnes holds a master's degree in Education Administration and has more than 26 years' teaching experience. She has worked in public, private and international school settings, with a focus on early literacy, and has used Jolly Phonics for the past fifteen years. Seeing children who use English as a second language learn to read early and improve their speech and comprehension skills is deeply fulfilling for her.
Agnes currently serves as a Literacy Consultant for various Primary Schools and teaches language skills part-time at Teacher Training Institutions and Universities.
Agnes would like to share her Jolly Phonics experience with fellow teachers, teacher trainers and parents across East Africa through hands-on workshops and training. This would, in turn, help lay a firm foundation in early literacy skills among children, thus combating the literacy problem that has remained an obstacle to many children's steady learning progress today.
