Dr. S. V. Gomathi

Dr. S. V. Gomathi (PhD in Education) is an experienced Education Consultant with over 26 years of expertise in working with both private and government schools across India and internationally. She specialises in English language education, early literacy, and systemic educational interventions.
She was the first to trial Jolly Phonics in 2004 for ESL learners in Hyderabad, India, where the programme demonstrated outstanding learning outcomes. This success led her to actively recommend and expand Jolly Phonics across schools and communities nationwide.
Dr. Gomathi has trained over 50,000 teachers in India and abroad since 2004, in both private and public schools. She has played a pivotal role in implementing Jolly Phonics in diverse educational settings, including Delhi government schools in collaboration with ARK (NGO) and a government-led initiative in West Khasi Hills, Meghalaya.
She is the driving force behind the Jolly Futures Programme in India, focusing on strengthening foundational literacy in government schools. Her research highlights significant improvements in reading and writing outcomes following the implementation of Jolly Phonics.
