Teacher guidance:
Use flashcards to briefly revise the letter sounds already taught. Revise the formation of one or two letters.
What to do:
- Show flashcards of taught letter sounds. Pupils say each sound once and do the action.
- Choose 2 or 3 letters to write on the board. While this is being done the children form the letters in the air.

Story and Action
Teacher guidance:
Use the Finger Phonics Big Book to introduce and tell the story related to the new letter sound.
What to do:
- Highlight words from the story that include the sound /sh/. Ask pupils to think of and share other words with the same sound.
- Show the ‹sh› flashcard, then do the action and say the /sh/ sound together as a class.
- Add the new piece of wall frieze to your classroom display.
